ATTITUDE OF THANKSGIVING (Abundance Out of Your Scarcity) BY SAM KORANKYE ANKRAH
ATTITUDE OF THANKSGIVING
(Abundance Out of Your Scarcity)
“And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.”
John 6:11-12 KJV
Jesus was confronted with a situation where he had to feed five thousand men with a meagre five loaves of bread and two fishes. It was a situation of troubling scarcity and seeming impossibility. So what did He do?
He thanked the Father and the little provision he had was multiplied. So much so that it fed thousands and enough was leftover as surplus.
Jesus basically worshipped and invoked God’s superiority into the situation with thanksgiving.
When we are faced with similar situations in which our resources are overstretched or limited, if we would thank God for the little we have, He would move and multiply our resources. Situations definitely change when we thank God in both good and bad times.
Why should we have an attitude of thanksgiving?
1. It attributes our blessings to God and this moves Him to do more.
2. It demonstrates and increases our faith.
3. It eliminates selfishness and greed from our hearts.
4. It is our act of worship.
“Always giving thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
