BE IN CHRIST
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
We are living in times that people can be backsliding and not know that they are backsliding. It is true that we are trying to go into the world and do evangelism and bring others to Christ. There is nothing wrong with that because of the great commission (Mk. 16:15), but I can also submit to you that we need a lot of evangelism in the church.
The times and seasons we find ourselves in even make it difficult to employ Christians; we have a form of Godliness but have denied the power (2 Tim. 3:5). People are very religious but not spiritual; they know about church but they do not know Christ. They will fall in love with, do everything for church but they do not necessarily know Christ.
There are people who are down and know they are down, and are looking for people to help them, but there are others who think that they are standing; Paul said that they should be careful they do not fall (1 Cor. 10:12). Even Paul who wrote two-thirds of the Bible said, “I keep under my body and bring it under subjection lest after I have preached the gospel, I myself will not be a castaway”. Apostle Paul knew the sensitivity and the fact that, you can be preaching the gospel and not make it to heaven. He understood that you can be a signboard that points people to a place but the signboard never gets to the place. May you not be a signboard that only points people to Christ; you must also have an encounter with Him as well.
• Pray and ask God to help you not only to respond to the great commission but also respond to Christ (Col. 3:1)
• You can be in church and not be in Christ; they are not the same.
• Colossians 3:2-3, 1 Peter 2:9
