Destruction Comes by Ignorance

Destruction Comes by Ignorance

By Bishop Charles Agyinasare

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”

I recently heard a sad story of the demise of a baby, which explains the effect of the lack of knowledge. The mother of this newborn baby left her malaria treatment drug on her bed. Ignorantly, the baby picked the drug and supposed it was meant for consumption. Needless to say, the baby died on consuming it!

Beloved, it is unsafe to be and remain without knowledge as a believer.

Let us study the consequence of the lack of knowledge in the lives of the following bible characters.

1. Unexpected defeat.

Jacob once cried in Gen 29:25-26 (KJV), “

…What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? … And Laban said, it must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.)

Laban meant that Jacob was disadvantaged because of his ignorance. Christians who lack knowledge stand the risk of experiencing defeat in important assignments like happened to Jacob

2. Unnecessary loss. I am convinced beyond any doubt that Job, in the day of his adversity would have stood and made supplication against the satanic onslaught on his family. God would have intervened and salvaged the situation. But Job suffered a great loss and he ignorantly attributed all his predicaments to God.

He said in Job 1:21 (KJV), “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Christians who lack deep knowledge and spiritual insight are at a disadvantage of suffering great losses like happened to Job.

3. Unnecessary room to the Devil. Eph 4:27 (AMP) tells us,

“Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].”

This simply means, the place the Devil has in your life is what you give him. The only opportunity or room he can ever get in your life is what you leave for him. Ignorance is one of such ways believers give room to the Devil to operate in their lives.

Father, in the name of Jesus, may I rise above defeat, losses and destruction as I know You through the word. Amen.
