Month Theme: Purpose and Divine Assistance

Topic: Divine Protection

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 91:1-26; Daniel 3:23-27

Main Text:

Daniel 3:27

27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

The Psalmist assures us that when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death – not stand in it – God is with us. We are never alone – there is always another person with us and He is a divine person – “the fourth man” who was with the young men in the furnace is with us even today (Psalm 23:4).

The apostle Paul spoke about the angel of God who stood by him when there was a storm on the sea. The angel appeared to encourage the apostle and assured him that he and the people who were on the ship with him would not perish. His encounter with the angel is similar to the appearing of the fourth man in the fiery furnace (Acts 27:21-25).

Pray to God to send “the fourth man” to assist you if you are in trouble. It is not His will for you to perish. He will give His angels charge over you lest you dash your foot against a stone. Psalm 91 paints a vivid picture of God’s saving power. He makes provision for your protection and preservation in all situations. If you call on Him, He will answer you.

Pray and declare that by virtue of the presence of the “fourth man”, no evil will come near your dwelling.
