Month Theme: Wisdom and Power for Purpose

Topic: Evicted satan

Scripture Reading:

Revelation 12:1-12; Luke 11:21-26

Main Text:

Luke 11:24
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

The plight of the evicted unclean spirit in Luke 11:24, teaches us a lesson that we can lose the position we occupy in some strategic places. The demon was evicted. From the inception of creation, demons have constantly suffered eviction. The head of all demons – satan – was cast down from Heaven (Revelation 12:7-12).

The outcome of the spiritual contest in Revelation 12:7-12 did not favour the devil and his angels – they did not prevail neither was their place found any more in heaven. Satan and his angels lost their position in God’s presence and became enemies of their creator. There was war in Heaven.

Satan did not lose his position voluntarily – a war led to his demise. Any time we lose our positions we should remember that we first lost a battle. An enemy drove us out of our positions. The prophet Isaiah marvelled at the fall of Lucifer from his position in heaven. He lost his power to weaken the nations because of evil ambition. God brought him down to hell – he was evicted from his abode (Isaiah 14:12-15).

1. Pray and declare that you will not lose your place. You will only go higher.
2. Pray for the humility and diligence to properly serve in the position you’ve been called into.
