Month Theme: The Jubilee
Topic: Eye Hath not Seen, nor Ear Heard
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:9-14
1 Corinthians 2:9
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
In Nicodemus’ encounter with Jesus Christ, the Lord drew his attention to the fact that being a ruler in Israel did not automatically give him the ability to understand spiritual things (John 3:7-11). He stated categorically that Nicodemus could not tell the direction of the spiritual wind that was blowing. It was the wind of the new birth and Nicodemus was not spiritually equipped to figure it out.
The times we live in look negative and the pervasive mood seems disabling. Believers as well as unbelievers are under bondage and in derision. Spiritual deception has formed a thick cloud over spiritual and social landscapes. Nevertheless, I can authoritatively declare that the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is ushering the nations of the world into the Jubilee. Wherever the Gospel is preached, “the Jubilee is proclaimed” (Matthew 11:4-6).
We are in the season of the Jubilee. The time of unspeakable freedom and joy is now, though the evidence on the ground may point to the contrary. The physical eye and ear cannot see or hear the Jubilee, which is blessed with the things God has prepared for those who love Him. Those who are filled with the Holy Ghost however, know the indescribable spiritual and physical riches God gives to us in the Jubilee. Jesus Christ has set us free and given us all things freely (1 Corinthians 2:9-12).
Prayer: Pray that you will be sensitive enough to differentiate between the physical and the spiritual.
