Month Theme: Wisdom and Power for Purpose

Topic: “Him That Thinketh He Standeth”

Scripture Reading:

Luke 11:21-26

Main Text:

Luke 11:24
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.In Luke 11:24, Jesus Christ presented a parable in which an unclean spirit demonstrated a sense of purpose many believers don’t have. The demon worked hard to recapture its lost territory with the assistance of seven other demons more wicked than itself. Believers have a lot to learn about fulfilling purpose from unclean spirits, ungodly people and animals like ants and serpents (Proverbs 6:6-11; Luke 16:1-9).Believers are usually under the assumption that they cannot fall. They engage in sinful acts like fornication and idolatry but try to convince themselves that satan cannot evict them from their positions of glory. They think they can never lose their positions of honour and glory. Because of this presumption, the enemy takes them by surprise and destroys them. The apostle Paul said those who think they are standing but engage in sinful acts should be careful otherwise they would fall (1 Corinthians 10:8-14).The Body of Christ is supposed to exercise dominion on earth and propagate the Kingdom of God. Nevertheless, in many situations, we are losing territorial control and are unable to grow. We look like evicted tenants who must take back our territory by gathering.

1. Pray that you will not be blinded by pride.
2. Pray for the discernment to continually depend on the Holy Ghost, to stand.
