Month Theme: The Anointing

Topic: Hospitality is Crucial

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:1-2

Main Text:

Hebrews 13:2

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The structured anointing features great levels of hospitality. Someone who operates in the anointing is in constant touch with the lives of other people and he or she must learn the discipline of how to be a blessing to people in his or her presence. Introverts must learn how to make their guest feel welcome. Friendliness liberates those you meet to glorify God and touch others’ lives.

In African and oriental cultures people are trained in how to welcome guests to their homes. The attitude of ushers could influence people to either come back to a church or never to return. We must be careful when we receive guests. They may be “angels” (Hebrews 13:1-2). It is rare to receive real angels as guests but some people come into our lives as God’s “angels” (messengers) regularly. Our connection with the people we meet is God’s pipeline for the release of our miracles.

The structured anointing is a relationship builder that places premium on the human traffic that flows its way. You cannot be more anointed than your ability to draw people into your life. Structured buildings, machines and systems are about parts relating to one another. You must not specialise in killing relationships. Hospitality involves genuineness, care, generosity and friendliness. Explore every opportunity to let people feel at home around you. If people are nervous in your presence they will not be open to receive the ministry of your gift or anointing (charisma).

Prayer: Pray for the heart, diligence and wisdom to be hospitable.
