Theme: Financial Faithfulness

Topic: Open Heavens

Scripture Reading:
Malachi 3:8-12

Main Text
Malachi 3:10
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Tithes and offerings are keys to open heavens. God is omnipotent but He demanded the tithes and offerings of the people as keys to open the heavens. Through obedience to His commandments, God makes us partners with Himself in His acts.

God promised to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing upon the people if they brought in the tithes and offerings. Open heavens are not only an Old Testament experience but a New Testament one as well. God pours out physical blessings, like rain, upon His people when the heavens are open. Tithing is a means God has given us to unlock financial and material blessings – being a New Testament believer does not change the principle.

God also gives those who are obedient His presence and the Holy Ghost. When He opens the windows of heaven the first thing we see is His face (presence) and then the blessings follow. When Jesus fulfilled all righteousness, the heavens were opened and the Holy Ghost descended on Him in the bodily shape of a dove (Matthew 3:15-17). May God open the heavens over you, and pour you out a blessing.

1. Pray that the Lord will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing.
2. Pray also that God will affirm you with His presence.
