OUR WEAPONS OF VICTORY (The Power of the Cross 2) BY SAM KORANKYE ANKRAH
OUR WEAPONS OF VICTORY
(The Power of the Cross 2)
“…having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
Colossians 2:14-15 NKJV
Jesus was falsely accused of treason and blasphemy and was publicly crucified on a rugged cross to punish and shame him. This act of crucifixion on the cross became the liberating moment of all humanity and a divine victory that guaranteed our reconciliation to God.
Let’s conclude this week’s discussions by looking at our gains from the crucifixion:
1. Christ was crucified on our behalf
2. He crucified all our trespasses with him
3. He nailed every guilt and punishment that comes with these trespasses
4. He dealt with every law, legislation, and statute that spoke against us. These legislations are strongholds that dictate the pattern of your life:
– family strongholds
– stronghold of your past
– stronghold of the mind
His death on the cross, therefore “…release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Hebrews 2:15 NKJV
Christ had to die to free man from the chains and bondage of sin, sharing flesh and blood to be able to deliver flesh and blood: suffering our pain and death, to release us from every bondage.
I declare in the name of Jesus, that by the power of the Cross, I am free from every stronghold that has held me bound. I am free and the victory delivered by Christ for me is established in my life and family now and always. Amen!
