“Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly…” – Romans 12:6, NASB

Years ago, I was an executive member of the leadership committee of a Christian fellowship.

One day, I had a vision in which I saw three waddling ducks wearing top hats. It was indeed a strange sight. You must know that a top hat is much bigger than the head of a duck. Obviously, these three ducks were a strange sight to behold. Something was wrong. Ducks are not supposed to wear hats!

Somebody was wearing something he was not supposed to wear. Somebody in the executive was holding a position he was not supposed to hold. That is what God showed me through this vision. I began to find out more and to seek God’s will concerning this vision.

After a while, we discovered that one member of the executive was completely out of place. He did not qualify in the least for the position he held. By the time we had finished delving into this fellow’s issues we had no choice but to ask him to leave the group. It was a painful and embarrassing experience for us all.

That is how it is when people are wrongly placed. It is time to move into what God has called you to. You will be rewarded for your faithfulness.

If God has called you to full-time ministry, you will be rewarded for doing it faithfully. If He has called you to be a layperson, remain in lay ministry and be faithful.
