Luke 5:17-26; John 8:1-11; Luke 4:1-19
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
In many instances in the Scriptures, Jesus Christ healed the broken-hearted with His Word. His presence was often accompanied by His spoken words and actions that resulted in miracles. God’s presence is not observer-status but action-executing. He executes by releasing His Word to heal the broken-hearted.
One example where the Lord Jesus healed the broken-hearted was as He was teaching the Word of God in someone’s house. His presence in the place drew some men to bring a man sick of palsy to Him. The sick man’s sin was forgiven and he was healed. This manifestation of God’s power through His presence healed the sick man’s broken heart as well as those who had cared for him for many years (Luke 5:17-26). Jesus Christ’s presence saturated the location with the power of God as He spoke the Word to heal the sick.
The woman caught in the act of adultery must have been devastated and broken-hearted. Her accusers brought her before Jesus Christ seeking to stone her to death without a fair trial. The words He spoke to her delivered her from the condemnation of the judgemental society (John 8:1-11). Jesus Christ’s verdict, “neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more”, must have given the woman the assurance to live a transformed and fulfilling life. The Word of God has the power to heal lives that are torn apart by sin and its consequences.
1. Pray that the reality of the Word of God will manifested in your life.
2. Pray also that you will see the fulfilment of every prophecy of God concerning your life.
