Theme: Preaching, Healing and Deliverance

Topic: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Power of God

Scripture Reading:

Ephesians 6:13-17; Romans 1:16-18; Matthew 23:1-12

Main Text:
Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Failure to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a major set-back in the modern-day Church. The Church is sophisticated in its doctrinal orientation by preaching and teaching so-called deeper truths and subjects that appeal to the intellect and flesh but have no power to save or deliver the soul. Failure to preach the Gospel is a missing component of the whole armour of God believers are supposed to wear. The attacks of satan against believers and the destruction of souls is because our feet are not shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:14-15).

Not preaching the Gospel gives the devil the licence to attack believers because they have failed to execute their mandate. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God that brings salvation to the world. In the absence of the Gospel, the world is not only vulnerable to the attacks of satan but the wrath of God. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:16-18).

Believers must discard the attitude of bearing the Gospel in a lackadaisical manner. We must appreciate that the attacks of satan and wrath of God do not give us the luxury of being spiritually irresponsible and neglecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both the Church (the preachers of the Gospel) and the world (receivers of the Gospel) suffer if the Gospel is not preached.

1. Believe God in prayer for any family or friend you want to see converted that the conviction of the Holy Ghost will fall on them strongly through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2. Pray for the manifestation of the power of the Gospel in your life as you go to preach.
