Month Theme: The Anointing

Topic: The Anointing is not in our “Struggles”

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 4:1-13

Main Text:

John 1:16

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

When you understand the simplicity of the anointing, you appreciate what you have. This understanding gives you a sense of responsibility and as you are energised to use what you have, excessive dependence on other people ceases. As you seek to know the simplicity of the anointing, it is important to stress that faith must be the instrument by which we detect and measure the anointing. Emotionalism, sensationalism and dramatisation are not to be confused with supernaturalism.

Sometimes a believer goes to a pastor to be prayed for. The pastor lays hands upon him or her gently and with a few words, asks God to heal him or her. This person may, when asked about the time spent with the pastor, reply that the pastor did nothing. The pastor simply touched him or her and prayed without any intensity. If the pastor, however, gathered twenty prayer warriors to surround this individual, and asked them to shout warfare songs, and cast devils out of the believer for several hours, he or she would believe more in the prayer. We tend to have confidence in difficult things. Bitter drugs are erroneously considered more effective than those that don’t taste very bitter. In our minds, difficult and complex things are more efficacious than simple things.

You could enjoy your walk with God better than you’re doing now. You must not struggle. The anointing is not in our struggle but in our surrender to the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ invited us to a life of rest, not frustration (Matthew 11:28-30). Jesus Christ has promised you rest. There should be no struggle in Christ. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Our Lord said we must learn from Him. He did not struggle and sweat to release the anointing. You can move in a sweat-free anointing. Don’t complicate things for yourself and for others. When the anointing becomes a simple phenomenon, it is easy for us to flow in it on a constant basis.

Prayer Pray that the Holy Ghost will help you generate the faith to walk in the anointing indwelling you.
