THE BREAKTHROUGH IN THANKSGIVING BY SAM KORANKYE ANKRAH
THE BREAKTHROUGH IN THANKSGIVING
So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.”
This is a story of Jesus resurrecting Lazarus from the dead. Remember Lazarus had been dead for four days and was buried, and this was characterised by:
1. Lazarus died out of sickness. There had to be an elimination of whatever caused the sickness so that it doesn’t come back once he resurrected (John 11:1)
2. When a person dies his or her spirit or soul leaves his body. The soul and spirit had to be summoned from wherever they were for resurrection to happen.
3. The body would have started decaying after four days. The resurrection had to witness a reconstruction of every dead and decaying tissue, organ and muscle in Lazarus. ( John 11:39 )
With an act of THANKSGIVING (worship to God to the father), all of these happened simultaneously and instantaneously for Lazarus to rise up from the dead.
What situation is taking away your bliss and imposing doom on you? Give God thanks (through worship), in anticipation of the demonstration of His power and deliverance.
If you can let your thanksgiving lead you in times of difficult situations, God will see you through with a victory.
Pray with me:
My Heavenly Father, I thank you for your mercies and grace to are availed to me daily. I submit my life, resources, and expectations to you in total worship. Have your rightful place and reign in my life now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
