The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-4

This is an account of what took place on the day of Pentecost. The disciples had gathered together in one place and “suddenly there was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:2).

After this, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues.

From the scripture, we can deduce some characteristics of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is symbolic. A symbol is a natural substance you can see and touch and may have a spiritual connotation.

The scripture says the Holy Spirit is like a wind; no one sees the wind, but we can feel its effect. It is strong and powerful. Just like the wind, the Holy Spirit blows and gives direction.

The Holy Spirit is also symbolic of fire.

1. He brings illumination and enlightenment. (John 14:26)

2. He is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29)

3. He brings transformation. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

4. He brings empowerment (Acts 1:8)

5. He brings attraction

May you continually encounter the Holy Spirit in every aspect of your life in Jesus’ name.
