Month Theme: For This Purpose

Topic: The Spirit of Might

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:1-8

Main Text:

Isaiah 11:2

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;_

After receiving wisdom and counsel you need might to carry out your divine calling. Might is the inherent ability to perform an act. Don’t keep falling under the power without a corresponding exercise of might. Falling under the power must be accompanied by practical spiritual results. Spiritual might empowers you to resist temptations and endure trials. It energises you to accomplish your mandate.

The Spirit of might imbues you with power to preach the Gospel and perform miracles and wonders. As you saw in the other characteristics of the seven-fold Spirit of God, Jesus Christ operated in the Spirit of might. The writer of the book of Hebrews admonishes believers to run with patience the race that is set before them by looking unto Jesus Christ as the perfect example (Hebrews 12:1-4).

Jesus Christ endured the cross and sat at the right hand of the throne of the Father. He attained this feat because He had the Spirit of might. Without the Spirit of might no one can fulfil his or her purpose. The Spirit of might is the enabler and energiser of the human will and enforcer of divine agenda. It enables you to overcome resistance and establish the Kingdom of God.

Prayer: Pray that the Holy Ghost will continually energise you in the pursuit of fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.
