Month Theme: Spiritual Warfare and the Jubilee

Topic: The Supernatural Factors You Must Deal With

Scripture Reading: Genesis 32:10-28

Main Text:
Genesis 32:24
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

The supernatural is the realm we cannot see. Supernatural causes are causes that cannot be counteracted by physical means. You cannot fight against the spirit with the flesh. There are two supernatural factors that confront us. The first is when God impedes a person and prevents him from going ahead with certain plans. The second is the resistance of the devil. Satan steals, kills and destroys.

The hindrance Jacob faced was from God (Genesis 32:24). God wrestled with him. Jacob’s name had to be put in proper perspective. The roadblocks of God are roadsigns of breakthrough. The Spirit of the Lord hindered Paul from preaching in Asia at a certain point (Acts 16:6). You are not called to do everything. You are not sent to everybody. God will shut some of your doors. Discomfort is the introduction of comfort. Trouble is the mother of peace.

The essence of God resisting the believer is to get him to confirm to His perfect will. Have you ever had your flight cancelled? You still don’t know what you escaped by not going on that trip. When we encounter the will of God, the only thing to do is to surrender. We must however be sensitive enough to discern the moves of the devil and resist him steadfastly in faith (1 Peter 5:8-10). Prayer and the Word of God are the main offensive weapons against every satanic onslaught against your life. We must persist in prayer until the breakthrough comes.

Prayer: Pray you’ll be sensitive enough to discern the moves of the devil and resist him steadfastly in faith.
