The Transience of Praise By George Agyemang Budu
The Transience of Praise
Everyone loves to be appreciated, everyone loves to be praised. Wisdom requires you to know how long to bask in the praises and appellations of men.
More often than not, they praise you before people who can’t contribute to your elevation and keep silent in the presence of those who can.
When the devil is involved, they shoot down any attempt by anyone to praise you on greatness-studded platforms. Such persons don’t have friends; they have interests.
As long as you are in the position to promote and project their interests, praises will abound. When you are not in the position to promote, project, trumpet, endorse or even finance their interests, your loyalty is summoned for questioning at the Sahendrin.
Ask some politicians. Ask some Pastors, and even ask some church members. Most likely, they won’t dissent too far from the same thought.
The praises of men are transient and short-lived. They only last when the conditions favor them.
Don’t build your tomorrow on transient praises of men.
Empires were not built on the praises of men. They were built on continual grinding and sweating.
