Theme: Purpose
Topic: The Word of God Liberates
Scripture Reading:
Luke  13:10-17; Luke 4:1-19
Main Text:
Luke 4:18
20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

It takes preaching and teaching to unleash the anointing that sets the captives free (Luke 13:10). Those who constantly preach the Gospel, see miracles of  healing and deliverance  on a constant basis. The Lord confirms their words with signs and  wonders, which liberate captives.
The  Word  of  God  is  the most  powerful  agent  of  deliverance. The  Psalmist  says  God  sends  His  Word  to  heal  the  sick  and  deliver them  from  their  destruction (Psalm 107:19-21). The  prophet  Isaiah  agreed  with  the  Psalmist  that  God  sends His  Word  to  accomplish  His  purposes.  Believers  should  not  seek miracles and deliverances in isolation from the  Word of God – the Gospel  of  Jesus  Christ (Isaiah 58:8-12).
The  Word  of  God  is  Spirit  hence  its  ability  to  destroy  the spirit  of infirmity  and  liberate  captives.  There  are  various  means of deliverance people often seek after that just offer cosmetic solutions  to  their  issues,  which  don’t  get  to  the  root  of  the  matter. We must acknowledge the fact  that the spiritual aspect of captivity and  bondage  is  real,  and  the  Word  of  God  is  the  only  permanent solution.
Pray for the grace to operate in the revelation of the Word of God.
