So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”

I Samuel 1:20

The Bible gives an account of Hannah and how she had no child even after several years of waiting. Unfortunately for Hannah, her rival Peninnah had children and therefore would torment and humiliate her because the Lord had kept her childless (1 Samuel 1:6 GNT). The Bible says this went on year after year; whenever they went to the house of the Lord, Peninnah would upset Hannah so much that she would cry and fast.

Then one day Eli the Priest saw her praying her heart out. In fact, Hannah was deeply distressed and cried bitterly as she prayed to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:10 GNT). It was then that Eli realized how much Hannah had been yearning for an answer from the Lord. Then Eli said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” (1 Samuel 1:17)

Sometimes you wait on God so much and for so long without an answer that you come to a conclusion that it is impossible for that miracle to happen; but I have good news for you. The Bible says in Habakuk 2:3 that “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”

You may have been waiting for long, but today I encourage you to continue holding on to His word and to His promises; because, He makes all things beautiful in His time.

I declare that just like Hannah, as you wait upon God, your miracle will surely come; it will not tarry in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

I love you.
