(When You Wait)

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Often, emphasis is laid on how important it is as a Christian to exercise faith and trust in God, by waiting upon Him. It took many years of waiting for Abraham to see the fulfilment of God’s promises to him. What exactly does it mean to wait on the Lord?

Waiting is only possible within time; and God, the creator of time, is not limited by our impression of same. Therefore, what seems late for you, may not be in the sight of God who in Jeremiah 29:11 assures you, “for I know the plans l have for you.”

What do you do while waiting upon God for his visitation and move:

1. Put your hope and trust in God and His word (Psalm 130:5-6)

2. Resist fear and the yoke of anxiety ( Psalm 37:7-8)

3. Be strong and courageous in the face of challenges (Ps 27:13-14)

4. Continue in steadfast prayer (Colosians 4:2).

“Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”

Psalms 37:7 (NLT )

Pray with me:

Heavenly Father, help me to wait upon you diligently so I see your goodness and the manifestation of your promises in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
