Topic: YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE ONE
1 Corinthians 6:16-17 (NKJV)
Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
We saw in our previous devotion, that, the greatest battle began in Gethsamane, and was finished on the Cross of Calvary, where the precious Blood of Jesus was shed for the remission of sins. Once it became possible for the sin nature to be washed away, it became possible for the human spirit to be joined to the Holy Spirit.
Our theme Scripture says, when one is joined to a harlot, he and the harlot become one flesh, but he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) says, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Thus, the Holy Spirit is the one referred to as “The Lord” in our theme Scripture. He who is joined to the Holy Spirit is one spirit with Him. How is this possible? And what does it imply?
The Greek word translated “spirit”, whether it refers to the Holy Spirit, the human spirit, or an evil spirit, is, “Pneuma.” Pneuma can also be translated as, “a movement of air” or “the wind.” Can you picture two different winds being joined together from two different directions? Can you tell the difference between the two different winds after they’re joined together? Certainly, the two winds joining together, will become one force. That’s exactly what happens to the human spirit when we receive the Holy Spirit. Your spirit is joined to the Holy Spirit when you receive Him, and you become one spirit with Him. This means you and the Holy Spirit become one inseparable force; you and the Holy Spirit are one!
If the Holy Spirit can be defeated, then, you can be defeated, because you’re one with Him. And since the Holy Spirit cannot be defeated, you’re unstoppable; you’ll always win in all circumstances.
